About Dr Melanie Gray

Dr Melanie Gray has been a leading GP in Sydney for more than 31 years and has been providing professional, caring and compassionate health and well-being services for Sydney Eastern suburbs residents for the last three decades as the co-owner of Park Family Practice in Bondi Junction.

Dr Gray and Dr Jaroslava Hybs started working together in 1988, and moved to their current location, opening Park Family Practice in 1998, bringing together their combined passions for patient welfare in a multi-functional surgery offering general practice; prescriptions services; geriatric; mental health; preventative health; wellness; paediatric; and on-site pathology services, with patient experience and wellness the surgery’s objective.

Dr Gray has a MBBS from The University of Adelaide and has trained in New Zealand and The United Kingdom before returning to Australia in 1986. She completed the GP Training Scheme in The United Kingdom prior to its compulsory introduction into Australia. While in the United Kingdom Dr Gray also completed the Diploma of Child Health, and the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and practiced in London at the Royal Free Hospital and in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

This has led to her life-long passion in children's health, women's health, midwifery, mental health and the broad scope of general practice, and her desire to open her own surgery once back in Australia.

What Dr Gray really enjoys about her general practice, is the unique relationships she has with patients. Dr Gray forms long-term confident relationships with patients; and she brings to this her compassion and educative skills as a health facilitator to empower patients on their personal wellness and health management journey.

With a positive approach to patient self-care, Dr Gray also has a focus on wellbeing and mental health. She has a particular interest in diet and nutrition; lifestyle; and family issues as they impact today’s busy patients.
